Job Description
We are hiring Housekeeping staff are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness, and overall appearance of a property, such as a hotel, resort, hospital, or office building. Their role is critical in ensuring a hygienic, organized, and welcoming environment for guests, employees, or residents. Depending on the setting, the responsibilities may vary, but they typically involve a high standard of cleanliness and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and Maintaining Guest Rooms or Assigned Areas:
- Dust, vacuum, mop, and clean guest rooms, hallways, restrooms, and public areas.
- Change bed linens, replace towels, and ensure all surfaces are sanitized.
- Replenish toiletries, bathroom supplies, and other amenities.
- Check for any maintenance issues and report them to the appropriate department.
- Ensuring Cleanliness of Common Areas:
- Clean and sanitize public spaces such as lobbies, elevators, stairways, lounges, and dining areas.
- Ensure the cleanliness of floors, windows, and furniture in these areas.
- Maintain cleanliness of corridors, restrooms, and any other common spaces.
- Laundry and Linen Management:
- Collect, sort, and wash linens, towels, and other laundry items.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of laundry materials.
- Fold, iron, and prepare linen for use.
- Restocking and Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other materials.
- Notify supervisors or the management team when supplies are running low.
- Ensure all rooms and common areas are equipped with the necessary items like soap, toilet paper, and amenities.
- Health and Safety Standards:
- Follow cleaning protocols that ensure a hygienic environment.
- Use cleaning chemicals in a safe and effective manner.
- Maintain health and safety regulations and report any safety hazards or accidents.
- Guest Requests and Service:
- Respond to guest requests related to room cleanliness or other housekeeping services.
- Provide extra items like towels, blankets, pillows, or toiletries upon guest request.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing any cleanliness issues promptly.
- Maintaining Clean Restrooms:
- Clean and sanitize restrooms regularly.
- Ensure sufficient stock of toilet paper, soap, and other necessities in restrooms.
- Room Setup and Turnover:
- Set up rooms according to the property’s standards, including making beds and arranging furniture.
- Prepare rooms for new guests or staff by ensuring all elements are clean, fresh, and functional.
- Waste Management:
- Empty trash bins and dispose of waste properly.
- Follow procedures for separating recyclable materials and general waste.
- Special Cleaning Tasks:
- Deep cleaning activities such as carpet shampooing, window washing, or furniture cleaning.
- Addressing specific cleaning needs based on guest requests or seasonal needs.
